An evocative poem, by Elsy, exclusively for Different Truths.
A thought perched
on her shoulder
gentle and soft
like a petal of rose.
Lost in reverie
she gave it
a shoulder cold,
and ruffled, it retreated.
To woo it gently back
to her yearning shoulder,
she eased off her reverie;
but it was no remedy.
It soared in silence
to realms uncharted,
perhaps to the ones
geared up for gain!
At times
once lost is always lost;
the chances we disregard
may never glance our way
offering a second chance.
Chance favors the ones
who are primed for the prize!
