Of a cat, a dog and two Children

In this nonsense verse, Sukanya talks of a cat, a dog and two children.

In a town in Texas where the cactus grow wild

there lived in that house a cat, a dog and two little child

The cat was rambunctious, full of spunk

the dog never bathed and smelled of junk.

The dog was huge, the dog was big

The cat was more orange than Donald Trump’s wig.

The kitty hunted birds and killed little mice.

Left on the back porch, decapitated birdy heads, thrice.

The dog was lazy and he slept through the day

and at sundown he snored and at the moon he would bay.

One such night as the ferocious wind howled

he woke with a start and gently he growled

he looked at the door and he stood straight and tall

lest some misfortune to this family befall.

He stood guard and he stared and stared                                1979848_10153246392992853_9094376906146847340_n

then he snarled and toothless gums he bared.

He was brave and completely dauntless

and for those ten seconds Sampson was sleepless.

After those seconds passed, he turned back

climbed the couch, curled up and hit the sack.

Life went on.

While the cat continued to hunt and the dog always slept…

the two children fought, and thus the equilibrium of the house was kept.
