Two Cups of Grain…

A powerful poem from Sarala, which depicts the trials, tribulations and the joy of farmers, who starve to feed millions, in Different Truths.

Let me write a poem

gathering verses from the

fragrant breeze wafting

Let my quill be dipped in

my tears of love for all

holding it tight lest it may slip

and wet the paper

See the birds flying in the air

Do they cry for food?

No because they know their master

Is their provider!

I have few cups of grains at home

Quietly kept in an earthen pot

I will make beautiful rice gruel

For both of us

We both share from the same bowl

Thinking of yesteryear

When everything was plentiful

Be thankful we have two cups of grains

To fill our stomach!

We will work again in the field

Sowing seeds of love

They will sprout when it rains

And we both will rejoice

Looking at our reward!

Weak as our body is

Our spirit is high

So don’t worry my love

We will have enough

Till such time we will

Live on our love!

The quill is dry

Let me dip it in my tears

to write our love story

for the world to read n enjoy !

Let all see with faith how two cups

Of grain filled sacks and sacks

feeding all the hungry around!
