A curtain raiser by T Mukherjee on Literoma’s forthcoming carnival, exclusively for Different Truths.
This 12th May, Kolkata will witness a spectacular literary bash to be organised by Literoma. The carnival will be a multilingual cultural event comprising of performance poetry, storytelling and solo music extravaganza in front of live media and audience, to be celebrated on the auspicious week of RN Tagore’s birth anniversary. More than fifty authors across India will be participating in the mega literary event reciting their own compositions in English, Bengali, Hindi and Urdu languages. The event will be the first of its kind in the city of joy.
The Literoma Carnival will witness the launch of three books – ‘Travel Tales: Diary #1: Bengal on Wheels’ by eminent writer Reetwika Banerjee, ‘Rukhsaar’ by veteran novelist Devi Raghuvanshi and ‘December Waves’ by debutante poet Mandrita Bose. The release ceremony will be followed by live performances by an array of talented writers from different corners of the country.
The eye-catching moment of the Literoma Carnival will be the announcement of Top 10 Featured Books of the Year where the organizers will be broadcasting the ten selected books and felicitate the respective authors.
