Spread the love

Reading Time: < 1 minute

An evocative poem about appearances and the hidden true self, by Neelam, exclusively for Different Truths.

You still wish to recklessly run
And get drenched in the soft drizzle,
You still wish to make those clumsy paper boats
And let them float gleefully in the muddy waters,
You still wish to let that colourful kite made by you
Fly high in the azure sky,
Your almond-shaped eyes still dream,
Your silent aura still has a glow…
You still have the child-like nature
Embedded behind the hard coating
Of your dead skin.

Perhaps,
What is missing is
The urge to let that dead skin peel off
And the readiness of exposing
That vulnerable and raw pink skin to the world;
After all, you’ve been hurt very often!

Do it, man!
No one can hurt you,
If you don’t let them!
