Growth

An evocative poem about nature, by Dr. Molly, exclusively for Different Truths.

Taking
   its own
time
    the butterfly
slowly,
    painfully
separates
    its wing
glued to
    the absorbing
contours of
    the cocoon...

strenuous
    effort...

but the
    stronger
it grows,
    the wing
with myriad
    silky magic…

let love
    true love
wean itself
    from narrow
confines,
    grow stronger,
expansive
    to flutter
all around
    not cocooned
in emotional
    tangles
walls
    that curtail
growth
    free breath...
