Sayantani’s poignant verse on DifferentTruths.com captures unmasked life’s longing, love, and hope amid scars and silent healing.
An urge for consent to breathe; a life is still a life –
No more ash-venom
No more masking veiled fire
Wave gently at the blankness of melancholy –
Stepping away from homesickness –
The sweet sleep of innate pain
And kept the keys of that locked room inside the ribs.
Time came and sat silently, with no questions.
Scars never submitted themselves as wounds.
The heart followed its oldest survival myth
Breath returned with longing, no permission or guilt
Still invisible, unmasked life stayed.
