Dr. Molly’s poem is about the chores of a summer morning, exclusively for Different Truths.
Outside the heat
burns
leaves shrivelling up.
this summer
a hot furnace...
morning!
pasted smiles
chewed up chores
sugarless tea...
food plate insipid.
post sixty
posing health hazards
fading vision
aches predicated on fatigue...
petrol smelling a.c yed
car rides, musty air inside
sun's glare peeping
through windows...
perfunctory medical
visits
clinical smelling corridors of wait,
consultation...
back, the tv channels
gorging on sensation, fights and political intrigue...
it cloys, it cloys...
only
the new born blossoms, braving the weather, waving in the wind
you breath in, the
existential cool...
the chatter of children
clinging to you
brings out smiles of innocent warmth...
