A Prayer is Born

An evocative poem, by Dr. Supatra, about a magical voice that transformed a song into a prayer. An exclusive for Different Truths.

The listeners hushed to silence
Stillness
As her voice created magic
On the notes

Her magnum opus
She was
A thorn bird,
Singing that one last song
For her very existence
For survival

That dimly lit
Auditorium
Transformed
To the holiest of shrines

A sea of humanity
Singing…
Or praying
In unison
For peace
And redemption

She a Messiah
Leading
The crowd
Eyes closed
Heads bowed
Seeking all they had forsaken
So far
All through
Peace…Salvation…Enlightenment

Perhaps
So are prayers born…
