A Blossoming

An evocative sensuous poem, by Lipsa, exclusively for Different Truths.

Smoke hangs heavy in the air –
Barrage of Sal resin
On the settled pain of longing

Intent on the many shadows
Of your bronze idol,
Senses wait, smouldering
In the stillness of fading light.

Consorts of long, lonely nights
In nebulous haze hung
Amorous images distort
The wisteria of an untainted pool.

He is what the heart craved:
The goal of this forsaken existence
Vermeil feet pacing,
Having traced and retraced:

Stillness then
While the world fades
And body yields.

In surrender bloomed
The yearning hyacinth.
