Cosmic Union: My First Snow

An enchanting Nature poem by Elsy, exclusively for Different Truths.

The gossamer snowflakes,
heralds of the heavenly espousal
flurried gently down,
bathing bride Earth.

Shavings from
white fleecy clouds
drizzled slowly down,
like lacy drapes
of silvery slivers.

The dancing cascade that ensued
vied with the Cosmic dance of Shiva*.

Soon it hit crescendo,
and the lacy drapes thinned out.

The orgy over,
Earth lay blanketed
in woolly silken snow,
with the Heavens
beaming down on her.

Serenity, peace, purity,
a wet electric silence,
all really tangible,
reigned thereafter.

*Shiva is a deity of Hinduism, also known as Nataraja, the Lord of Dance.
