Spread the love

Reading Time: < 1 minute

A loving homage for a person, who stood through rain and shine, by Lipsa, exclusively for Different Truths.

Your dedication baffles me;
Times weren’t always good, were they?
The alleys were dark,
Long, narrow and dank;
When it rained, it drenched you,
The walls remained damp for days:
Even in the dark, you were happy.
Weren’t you?

Then it stopped, mildew settled –
There you were, alone again
What light and what love?

You could have stood there…
Waited for hope, couldn’t you?

But you kept moving:
The alleys opened into alleys
And the darkness was labyrinthine.

When it rained again,
You rejoiced;
When it stopped again,
You moved along the damp walls
On the damp paths.
When it was dry again,
You stood, dry,
Alone. How long could this go on?

Now you’re gone.
And this time,
I wait.
