Spread the love

Reading Time: < 1 minute

A poem about dealing with grief and mortality, by Shernaz, exclusively for Different Truths.

Do we become
emotionally hyper
in the grave of fossilised grief?

Afraid of our mortality
refusing to come to terms with it
we landscape mazes
where at every turn
rises a black mass of memories

Rather than accept and revel
in the freedom and lightness
of our transient lives
We keep sliding down
on an uphill trek - a load
of grievances on our shoulders.
