Spread the love

Reading Time: < 1 minute

A poignant and surreal poem, by Gopal, exclusively for Different Truths.

Beams of sunlight shine down and rove over
the winged visitors,

dreamy landscapes are intensely focussed
Tungsten-hard voice of the stormy wind
sweeping inquiry into the mysteries and mysticism.

Chinese art history resonates in six dynasties

Confucian tropes in marble panels
from a sarcophagus,
images melt into one another,

Taoist sages’ seat in groves, somewhat in a daze,
robe and sashes swaying gently,

cups of wine and music, a trailing tune
scarred by segregation

A carver of words simmers in the granite.
