This week Sneha reviews a Hindi novel, Jad Aur Chetan, by Anuj, exclusively for Different Truths.

Author: Anuj

Genre: Social

My Rating: ☆☆☆☆

When you pick up a book of Master philosopher, expectations are always high. And every time, his words amazed me more than before. How can someone simplify the most complex life problem without being obvious or preachy.

The story itself is an unique one as it narrates the tale of a rickshaw puller and his life. And surprisingly it doesnt talk of their difficulties or poverty only but presents a complete different side of their life.

The story itself is an unique one as it narrates the tale of a rickshaw puller and his life. And surprisingly it doesn’t talk of their difficulties or poverty only but presents a complete different side of their life. Their positivity in every difficult situation, purity of their soul ,their aspirations for betterment of their children.  You will certainly feel awed once you will complete this book.

This books talks about several current issues but in a simplified way. The division between our society and our education system is described realistically.

The flow of language is smooth and interesting.

The language is Hindi and I really loved the way writer narrated the tale. The flow of language is smooth and interesting.

The narration is superb. The positivity and simplicity is strength of this novel.

Each  character is unique and full of life. It feels like we are seeing a part of society which no longer exists or maybe somewhere it still exists.

An amazing read!
