Here’s a poem on the issue of abortion, by Mugdha. This was recited during a seminar of Different Truths and Allahabad Museum. An exclusive for Different Truths.

Before I came to this world,
You know me very well my mom,
Everything seems to be blurred,
The only place I know was your womb.
I could hear your voice,
I could feel you, mommy,
I was afraid of the outer noise,
I just feel safe inside your tummy.

You know me more than me,
You wanted to fulfil all my dreams,
Then what happened that I became a pain for you to see,
I cried and cried but no one here my screams.

Was there any pain or any loss,
Was there any wrong connection in Jesus cross.
Or anybody has forced you to stop my life,
Because of which you did not lead me to thrive.

I just ask God to keep my parents happy,
Sometimes I think maybe I was a little scrappy.
I am not sad that you aborted me,
Because there must be a reason you didn’t allow me to live and see.
