Emmie celebrates the Creation in the song of a skylark, in this poem. Her imagery of Nature is evocative. An exclusive for Different Truths.

Creation sings in the song of a skylark
soaring heavenward, startled from its
moorland nest by the tramp of passing feet.
Its voice reverberates clear in the
cerulean blue sky above, punctuated
by commas of fluffy cloud.

Down below, mossy turf cushions boot-clad
feet as they traverse the open heights.
Spring sunshine caresses coat-clad shoulders,
enlivening breezes tickle faces and move
playfully amongst silver hair.

On the skyline, purple hills brood over the
patchwork quilt of green draped on hill and dale.
Munching sheep with placid eyes watch as
legs move, arms swing, faces crease into
weather-beaten smiles of simple joy.

My soul sings, here on my hill,
joining the skylark in the ancient
Song of Creation.
