In 2016, banker Smitha Vishwanath began blogging. After 20 years, she gave up her banking career in July 2018. Since then, she's painted and written poetry. Her 2019 Best of the Net poem "Omid", "Do you have dreams?" and "Forgotten" were Maureen Thomson's 2021 and 2022 International NaPoWriMo. "Ye birds on my perch" was SpillWords' May 2021 "Poet of the Month." Her poetry appears in several anthologies and online media.
