Energy Sapped

Time: 1 minute

Elsy talks about the many struggles of women in this . An evocative  exclusively for Different Truths.

Hard work in the yard

left her sapped.

She lay drained, like

a chewed cane stick,

entreating the

to reanimate her.

Before long,

trickled back into her,

like oozing

into pump-dried well.

Energised, she stood in haste,

to implement the next

in the list of endless tasks,

a euphemist calls Life!
